Frontier students had many opportunities to show off their art work at our school and in the community!
Youth Art Month State Flag Design
Congratulations to 4th grade Artists: Riley H., Porter G., Sean J., and Margarita H. who's collaborative art work won 1st in the statewide Youth Arts Month flag competition! The theme was: Art Connects Us, so these four students made four individual drawings and then connected them.
Their flag will be on display at our state capital in March!
Future Artists of Colorado Art Show
Aurora Frontier and CherryArts sponsors of The Cherry Creek Arts Festival are excited to bring you the Future Artists of Colorado Gallery in partnership with the Cherry Creek Shopping Center! You can view the work if you enter from Macy’s to the right, in the hallway across from Sunglass Hut.
Diversity on Display
More than 500 Aurora Frontier P-8 art students collaborated to create a large-scale skin tone mosaic mural to celebrate their school's diversity. Each student learned how to mix paint to create a color that matched their skin. This special piece, inspired by Karen Katz's "The Colors of Us," is set to greet school visitors for the next nine years! At that time, the kindergarten students involved will be Frontier alumni and Thad McCauley, Frontier's Art and Visual Thinking Specialist, will recreate the mural with the school's new student population. Shout out to Frontier's Equity Committee for thinking of such a meaningful and memorable project for students.
